Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, Texas to:
  • Utilize Python for data engineering tasks, streamlining data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes to ensure robust data pipelines and efficient data management.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, distributed, multi-threaded applications for real-time streaming, including technologies like Apache Kafka and JAVA/J2EE.
  • Build automated tests and enable continuous delivery of platform components utilizing Angular and Node for full stack manageability tools.
  • Collaborate with junior members to guide design reviews, development, and code reviews.
  • Write and document procedures for development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Work closely with technology partners across programs to conceive, design, and create unique front-end and mobile capabilities.
  • Optimize data processing code for performance across multiple platforms and environments within the Big Data Technology stack (Hadoop, NoSQL, etc.).
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a SW Engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 2 years in the job offered or in a SW Engineer-related occupation.

  3. Full Stack Development;
  4. Apache Kafka;
  5. Druid;
  6. Angular;
  7. Node;
  8. Big Data Technologies like Hadoop or NoSQL;
  9. Data Engineering;
  10. Scalable, Distributed, Multi-Threaded Applications;
  11. Automated Testing;
  12. Continuous Delivery; and
  13. Front-End and Mobile Capabilities


Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, Texas

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $163,550.00 to $171,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
