Duration: 1 Year contract
Work Schedule: 4x10 (M-Th)
Job Summary
Aerospace and defense company is seeking a Milling Machine Machinist 1 to support its Tooling Department in Palmdale, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on CNC machining experience, including machine setup, operation, blueprint interpretation, and precision machining to meet tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and conventional milling machines.
- Perform milling operations, including drilling, boring, contouring, cutting, and machining compound angles.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, attachments, and machine components.
- Determine machining sequences, speeds, feeds, and depth of cuts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments and machinist hand tools.
- Inspect machined components to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
Required Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1+ year of CNC programming and machine operator experience.
- Hands-on experience with machine setup and machining operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the machining/manufacturing industry.
- Experience with CNC milling, precision machining, and blueprint interpretation.
