We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fire Alarm Technician to support installation, inspection, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and life safety systems across commercial and industrial environments.
This position is critical to ensuring systems are fully operational, code-compliant, and protecting both people and property. The ideal candidate brings strong technical experience, problem-solving ability, and a customer-first mindset in the field.

  • Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems and components

Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving
  • Ability to diagnose issues across hardware, software, and network connectivity

Low Voltage & Installation Skills
  • Running, terminating, labeling, and testing cables (Cat5/6, coax, fiber)

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, inspect, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems and related components
  • Perform system testing to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards
  • Diagnose and repair wiring issues, device failures, and panel faults
  • Read and interpret blueprints and system schematics to execute installations accurately
  • Complete service documentation and inspection reports
  • Communicate with customers before and after service to explain work performed
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to meet deadlines and job requirements
  • Maintain compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and safety standards

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems installation and service
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire/life safety codes
  • Experience with low-voltage cabling and infrastructure
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and on a team

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working with fire alarm brands such as:
  • Qolsys, DMP, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight
  • Advanced networking knowledge
  • Previous service technician experience
  • Project coordination or job tracking experience

Work Environment

  • Field-based role supporting commercial and industrial job sites
  • May require travel between job locations
  • Hands-on work with tools, ladders, and lifts

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of O'Brien, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
