Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior SDET / Automation Engineer with strong expertise in test automation, Selenium, Karate, API testing, and AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
The candidate should have strong programming skills, hands-on experience with automation frameworks, and the ability to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and AWS-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Develop automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Java.
- Build and maintain API automation suites using Karate DSL.
- Perform REST API testing, including functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation.
- Develop reusable automation components, utilities, test data frameworks, and reporting mechanisms.
- Create and execute automated regression and smoke test suites across multiple environments.
- Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and other DevOps tools.
- Execute automated tests in AWS cloud environments and validate applications deployed on AWS.
- Work with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, and RDS as applicable to testing and application validation.
- Analyze test failures, investigate defects, and collaborate with developers to identify root causes.
- Perform database validation using SQL.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to define effective test strategies.
- Review requirements and technical designs and identify test scenarios, risks, and automation opportunities.
- Maintain test documentation, automation standards, execution reports, and defect tracking.
- Continuously improve automation coverage, framework stability, execution time, and overall QA processes.

Required Technical Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Software Testing / SDET / Test Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
- Strong experience with Karate DSL / Karate Framework for API automation.
- Strong programming experience in Java.
- Experience developing automation frameworks from scratch or significantly enhancing existing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, XML, and API validation.
- Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Strong experience with JUnit / TestNG.
- Experience with Maven / Gradle.
- Strong understanding of BDD and automated testing practices.
- Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
- Hands-on experience integrating automated tests with Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms.
- Strong SQL/database testing experience.
- Experience testing applications hosted in AWS environments.
- Understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, RDS, and related cloud components.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Cucumber / BDD.
- Experience with Playwright or Cypress.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS-based microservices architectures.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging platforms.
- Experience with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter.
- Experience with test reporting tools and dashboards.
- Exposure to Terraform and AWS infrastructure automation.
- Experience working with distributed systems and microservices.
- Knowledge of security and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API tokens.
