Role Overview
A technology-driven organization is seeking a highly experienced Snowplow Taxonomy Consultant Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and integration of a scalable event taxonomy framework using Snowplow Analytics.
This architect-level role will be critical in aligning data collection strategies with business objectives, ensuring semantic consistency, and enabling high-quality, scalable analytics across web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Define and implement a scalable Snowplow event taxonomy aligned with North Star architecture principles
Architect Snowplow integrations across web and mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
Design and document event schemas using Iglu and JSON Schema standards
Establish governance models for taxonomy versioning, lifecycle management, and evolution

Lead end-to-end implementation of Snowplow trackers and data pipelines
Collaborate with mobile, backend, and platform teams to ensure accurate instrumentation and validation
Integrate event taxonomy with SDUI components and GraphQL subgraphs to ensure consistent event generation
Ensure compatibility with downstream analytics and activation tools (e.g., cloud data warehouses, ML platforms, reverse ETL tools)

Define validation rules and automated checks for schema compliance
Implement monitoring and alerting for event integrity and pipeline health
Drive best practices for event naming conventions, structure, and metadata tagging

Partner with product, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into well-defined events
Conduct training sessions and workshops on Snowplow instrumentation and taxonomy usage
Create comprehensive documentation, onboarding materials, and implementation guides
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics engineering, or event instrumentation
3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowplow Analytics, including Iglu schema registry and pipeline configuration
Deep expertise in event taxonomy design, semantic modeling, and schema governance
Experience integrating Snowplow with mobile applications (Swift and Kotlin environments)
Familiarity with GraphQL, SDUI, and modern application architectures
Strong understanding of data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Apollo Server and GraphQL subgraph design
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or personal financial management domains
Contributions to open-source Snowplow projects or shared schema libraries
