Job Description
You will be the Reliability Engineer for the Reliability & Test Engineering Team. Our team is responsible for guaranteeing that every component and sub assembly meets the highest reliability standards through rigorous Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and accelerated aging test programs that validate product lifecycle performance.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Reliability Engineer you will own the end to end reliability analysis process and develop test plans that uncover and mitigate risk early in the product development cycle. You'll work side by side with design engineers, material scientists, test laboratories, and program managers to translate reliability data into actionable design improvements and ensure mission critical performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Create and maintain component level FMECA worksheets in compliance with MIL STD 1629A (or equivalent) and internal standards.
Identify failure modes, root causes, and their effects on system performance.
Assign criticality rankings and document clear mitigation strategies.
Keep FMECA results current throughout the product lifecycle and capture lessons learned for future projects.
Define accelerated life test objectives and calculate acceleration factors using Arrhenius, Coffin Manson, or other appropriate models.
Coordinate test execution with internal labs and external vendors, ensuring test setups meet the defined objectives.
Analyze test data, compare results to reliability predictions, and update reliability models accordingly.
Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to cross functional teams and senior leadership.
Support the development of reliability driven design guidelines and best practice documentation.
Participate in design reviews, providing reliability insight that influences architecture decisions.
