Description:
**Hybrid Onsite | Onsite in Boston, MA 4 days per week**

The organization requires a Senior Java Developer to support both middle-tier server development and presentation-tier development. The role spans user interfaces through database layers and emphasizes robust, high-performance web applications with close collaboration across teams.

Rate: $60.00 to $65.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technical designs.
  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality source code across the full stack.
  • Create and execute unit tests and support functional and system integration testing.
  • Participate in deployment activities and provide production support as needed.
  • Design and integrate application components for seamless interoperability.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, maintainability, and security standards.

Experience Requirements:
Experience Requirements
  • 5+ years developing web-based applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Core Java expertise including multi-threading and Executor framework.
  • Proficiency with Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and MyBatis.
  • Experience building and integrating RESTful web services.
  • Front-end experience with JavaScript, JSP, CSS, HTML, Angular, and modern JS libraries such as jQuery.
  • Working knowledge of AJAX, XML/XSLT, and JSON.
  • Experience with application servers including JBoss, Apache, and Tomcat.
  • Strong SQL skills including database design, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot in Agent mode to assist with Java development.
  • Ability to create cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions.
  • Strong understanding of web application security best practices.
  • Preferred: Experience developing property and casualty insurance applications.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with non-functional requirements such as performance tuning and scalability strategies.
