Summary

The Modeling and Simulation junior-level engineer will work on concurrent projects involving Hypersonic M&S, ground testing, and operations analysis (OA) using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Simulation (AFSIM) at MTSI's headquarters office in Alexandria, VA.

Supporting teams include developers of MTSI's Hypersonic Rapid Analysis and Design (HyperRADS) multiphysics M&S system and Alexandria/St. Louis Operations Research Analyst and Software Development experts. We also have a team of PhD-level subject matter experts (SMEs) with extensive industrial and academic experience reaching back to the 1980s National Aerospace Plane (NASP) program.

Responsibilities:

Your essential job functions will include, but may not be limited to:
Developing technical or operational competency in the performance of tasks and responsibilities in support of the technical area
Fundamental knowledge base comes from education in general principles and practices of the technical
area, or the equivalent work experience
Seeks guidance in unexpected situations
Provide technical assistance to Project, Senior, or Principal Engineers/Analysts to complete technical tasks in support of a project
Could work independently or within a team construct to complete assigned tasks
Conduct research and perform specialized analysis and data reduction to support technical requirements (system trades, sensitivity analysis, etc.)
Develop SW or specialized tools to support engineering/test analysis
Assist in the development of draft reports, documents, and briefings
Documents may include: schedules, CONOPs, trade studies, analytical studies, whitepapers, SW
descriptions, flight/ground test plans, test reports, etc.
Coordinate with other MTSI-internal/ external participants as appropriate

Qualifications:

Required:
  • BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in an engineering or physics discipline
  • Experience in programming with Python, MATLAB, C++, R, HTML/JavaScript

Knowledge of code versioning tools (Git)
Some experience with MTSI's M&S toolsets- Solidworks, HyperRADS, AFSIM, PARSE

Clearance Requirements:
  • No active clearance required, ability to obtain TS/SCI in future.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
