Founding Infrastructure Engineer (AI Startup)

Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite)
Experience: 5+ years

Objective

Seeking a hands-on Founding Infrastructure Engineer to build and own the company's cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security, deployment, and production reliability from day one. This is a startup leadership role requiring end-to-end ownership of AI infrastructure, customer deployments, and scalable cloud systems.

Must-Have Requirements

5+ years of infrastructure, DevOps, backend, or platform engineering experience.
Prior startup experience building and operating production cloud environments.
Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, deployment automation, and production operations.
Expertise with PostgreSQL, Redis, authentication/authorization, and distributed systems.
Proficient in Python and TypeScript; React/full-stack experience is a plus.
Experience improving system reliability, observability, monitoring, backup/recovery, and incident response.
Familiarity with SOC 2/security compliance and enterprise deployment architectures.
Experience deploying AI applications or AI agents into production.
Comfortable working directly with customers and owning technical decisions.
Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments with high ownership.

Preferred Traits

Strong problem solver who can balance infrastructure, backend engineering, and customer-facing work.
Comfortable using AI coding tools to accelerate development while understanding their limitations.
Self-starter with excellent prioritization and execution skills.
