IT Systems Administrator - Microsoft 365 / Identity & Security

Contract to Hire - 40 hours per week

CDW is seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator with strong experience in Microsoft 365 administration, identity management, and enterprise security. This role is responsible for managing cloud-based collaboration tools, supporting identity integrations, and ensuring secure, reliable IT operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and related collaboration tools
Manage user accounts, mailboxes, access provisioning, and licensing
Configure and maintain email security, transport rules, and mail flow policies
Implement and manage identity solutions using Microsoft Entra ID, including SSO and MFA
Integrate third-party applications (e.g., Okta) for authentication and access management
Administer Group Policy, DNS configurations, and domain-level security settings
Support Active Directory integrations and automate user lifecycle processes using PowerShell
Monitor and respond to phishing threats, implementing protections such as SPF, DKIM, and email security protocols
Troubleshoot system outages and performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system improvements and integrations, including AI-driven tools
Manage patching and system updates across environments including virtualization platforms
Support and maintain security tools such as Tenable and endpoint protection solutions
Assist with infrastructure security including certificate management and port/security configurations

Required Qualifications:

Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online environments
Strong knowledge of identity and access management, including SSO and MFA
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory
Familiarity with email security concepts (SPF, DKIM, phishing protection)
Experience with Group Policy, DNS, and domain configurations
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
Experience troubleshooting enterprise IT issues and managing outages
Knowledge of virtualization environments such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with identity platforms such as Okta
Familiarity with security and vulnerability management tools like Tenable
Exposure to endpoint security tools (e.g., SentinelOne)
Experience supporting enterprise environments with multiple locations or divisions
Understanding of RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) principles
