Job Description:
The GIS Governance Coordinator is responsible for establishing, improving, and managing enterprise GIS governance practices. This role leads key initiatives focused on inventory, workforce role and skills standardization, data lifecycle governance, and special projects. The position plays a critical role in advancing GIS-related VDOT Business Plan items and facilitating consistent, highquality GIS data management across the organization.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain documentation related to GIS governance.
Facilitate crossdepartment coordination to ensure consistent adoption of governance practices.
Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for leadership and governance committees.
Support enterprise GIS strategic planning and continuous improvement activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of GIS principles, data management, and enterprise GIS environments.
