Summary

We are seeking an Engineer Systems 3 to support a multidisciplinary systems engineering team focused on the development of complex systems across the full product lifecycle. This role applies Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to develop system architectures, perform functional and trade studies, and translate stakeholder requirements into detailed hardware and software specifications. The position is on-site in San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation (V&V), cost and risk assessments, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Conduct analyses across all phases of the system lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
  • Convert stakeholder and product requirements into complete system solutions while considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition
  • Develop and manage system requirements and ensure traceability to hardware and software specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and leaders across multiple disciplines
  • Support documentation, reviews, and technical briefings

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Software, or a related STEM field with 5 years of experience, or
    • Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or
    • PhD with 1 year of experience
  • Experience in systems engineering
  • Experience in system requirements development, management, and analysis
  • Experience with MBSE tools or demonstrated ability to work with software-aided design tools
  • Ability to adhere to program security requirements
  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required
  • Must currently have SAP or be able to obtain and maintain SAP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Working knowledge of MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, or Enterprise Architect
  • Experience working on military or spacecraft systems
  • Experience with large, complex system development programs
  • Experience developing, managing, and decomposing system requirements
  • Experience in system architecture, CONOPS, or model-based systems engineering
  • Experience with ICD, IRS, and IDD development and integration
  • Ability to deliver clear technical presentations to stakeholders
  • Agile Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience in Cost Account Management (CAM)
  • Experience with SysML or UPDM modeling languages
  • Proficiency with DoDAF, UAF, or similar modeling frameworks
  • Strong technical leadership and coordination skills
  • SysML certification
  • INCOSE participation or CSEP certification

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $120.00/hr.
