Business Analyst II (Contract)

Location: Nashville, TN (Onsite - 5 days/week)

Duration: 12-month contract (potential extension or conversion)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours

Pay Rate: $30- 34 Hourly

Employment Type: W2 Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Analyst II to support a large-scale logistics and transportation organization focused on optimizing freight movement and pricing strategies across a national network. This role sits within a product and technology organization that partners closely with operations, analytics, and engineering teams to drive data-backed decision making.

This is a hands-on analytical role ideal for someone who enjoys translating complex data into insights, building dashboards, and supporting business leaders with actionable recommendations.
What You'll Do

• Analyze business processes, systems, and data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to support operational and pricing decisions
• Partner with product managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to define requirements and success metrics
• Write clear documentation outlining user needs, system functionality, and process flows
• Perform ad hoc analysis using Excel, SQL, and BI tools to support time-sensitive business questions
• Support development or enhancement of reporting tools and analytical solutions
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner

Required Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role
• Advanced Excel skills (large datasets, formulas, pivot tables; Power Query or macros a plus)
• Experience building dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar BI tools
• Foundational to intermediate SQL skills for querying relational databases
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical or analytical outputs
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting logistics, transportation, supply chain, or pricing teams
• Exposure to product or technology-driven environments
• Experience working with large, complex datasets in fast-paced organizations
