Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer / Tester to support development and testing of enterprise applications running on IBM Mainframe platforms. This is a hybrid role based in Columbus, OH, requiring strong hands-on experience in COBOL development, CICS, JCL, and VSAM, along with testing and production support expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe

  • Develop and support online (CICS) and batch (JCL) applications

  • Create and optimize batch jobs using JCL, SORT, and utilities

  • Work with VSAM datasets and flat files, including performance tuning

  • Use SCLM for source control and version management

  • Manage and troubleshoot job scheduling using CA7

  • Perform impact analysis, root cause analysis, and production support

  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and cross-functional teams

  • Follow enterprise coding standards and documentation practices

Testing Responsibilities

  • Perform unit, system, and integration testing

  • Develop and execute test cases for COBOL, CICS, and batch programs

  • Validate data integrity across VSAM files and interfaces

  • Identify and resolve defects and production issues

  • Support regression testing and post-implementation validation

Experience

  • 12–15 years of experience in Mainframe Development (strict requirement)

  • Strong experience in enterprise-scale mainframe systems

  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications
