Remote team of 6 around the world-Romania, India They need to also be able to work with internal & external stakeholders This team supports their public site Barings Connect, which is a client facing product 80% development 20% meetings, backlog (they have 2 sessions/wk for backlog) Agile, stand up, 3 week sprints
Role Overview
The Appian Developer for Barings Connect builds and supports the enterprise's digital client?experience platform, delivering secure, scalable workflows that integrate Appian with Barings' broader technology ecosystem. This role involves end?to?end development; requirements analysis, SAIL UI/UX design, process?model engineering, integrations, data modeling, and full?stack enhancements-to ensure seamless onboarding, reporting, and client?service operations. The developer partners with business users and cross?functional engineering teams to implement new capabilities, resolve production issues, maintain regulatory and security compliance, and continuously improve platform performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in full SDLC: requirements ? design ? development ? testing ? deployment.
* Build Appian objects: SAIL UIs, interfaces, expression rules, process models, record types, integrations, constants, groups, security models.
* Design and develop integrations (REST APIs, Webhooks, Document services, Entra/Okta/SharePoint/DocuSign/Salesforce).
* Create and optimize database objects (tables, views, stored procedures).
* Ensure adherence to Appian best practices, design standards, governance, and compliance.
* Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of workflow issues.
* Support production applications with L2/L3 issue resolution.
* Prepare architecture documentation and participate in peer reviews.
* Work with testing teams to validate end?to?end workflows and UI behaviors.
* Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across environments.
* Collaborate with business teams to refine requirements and translate into scalable designs.
Required Skills
* Hands-on Appian development (2 7+ years depending on level).
* Strong knowledge of Appian architecture, process models, SAIL, records, data sync, integration objects.
* Familiarity with Appian best practices and performance tuning.
* SQL proficiency (MariaDB).
* Experience with REST APIs, integration design, and troubleshooting.
* Solid understanding of BPM concepts, workflow automation, and UI/UX patterns.
* Experience with Git, DevOps, Agile, testing frameworks.
Preferred Skills
* Appian Associate / Senior / Lead Developer Certification.
* Experience with RPA products (AppianRPA, Selenium, Cucumber).
* Experience with .NET, Java, Python, or other full?stack languages.
* Experience in financial services, compliance, or regulated industries.
* Experience with Appian upgrades, data migration, and Process HQ.
