OverviewWe are seeking an Event Management Engineer to support and enhance enterprise monitoring and event management platforms. This role involves developing and maintaining event-driven solutions, ensuring platform reliability, and collaborating with application and infrastructure teams to improve observability across complex environments.Key Responsibilities- Maintain, support, and enhance the enterprise Event Management platform in alignment with engineering standards and operational policies
- Participate in maintenance activities and ensure platform stability and availability
- Guide and mentor technical teams providing operational support for event management functions
- Advise application and server support teams on optimal use of event management capabilities
- Develop, update, and test event management rules, policies, and integrations
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and server issues impacting event visibility or system health
- Respond to incidents and availability issues as part of on-call rotation
- Build software solutions to automate repeatable tasks, streamline workflows, or improve efficiency
- Prepare and maintain design documents, process guides, and support documentation
- Support the design, integration, and implementation of monitoring and event management solutions across the enterprise
Required Skills & Experience- 5+ years of hands-on experience engineering and implementing event management tools (e.g., IBM Netcool or similar enterprise-class platforms)
- Strong experience with event processing components such as Omnibus, Impact, dashboards/UI modules, and high-availability configurations
- Experience creating event policies, triggers, correlation rules, and automation workflows
- Proficiency with common event ingestion technologies (e.g., traps, message bus, webhooks)
- Working knowledge of container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Experience leveraging AIOps platforms or related technologies is a plus
Soft Skills- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
- Clear and effective communicator with strong documentation habits
- Ability to work in fast-paced, enterprise environments with shifting priorities
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.24 - $73.68/hr.
