About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a well-established organization in the financial and insurance services industry to identify a Voice Systems Engineer to support and enhance a large-scale enterprise voice environment. This role is critical to maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing voice services that support employees and business operations across multiple locations.

This is a hands-on, in-person position based in Owatonna, Minnesota. Due to the collaborative and fast-paced nature of the environment, remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.



Job Description
The Voice Systems Engineer will be responsible for administering, supporting, and improving enterprise voice infrastructure, with a primary focus on Avaya-based systems. The role also includes advancing cloud-based communications through Twilio integrations to support evolving business and customer communication needs.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in VoIP technologies, SIP trunking, and telecom provider coordination, along with a solid understanding of voice-related security risks and controls. Success in this role requires close collaboration with infrastructure and security teams, a proactive approach to automation and standardization, and a strong emphasis on service reliability and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, administer, and support secure enterprise voice systems across multiple locations
  • Administer and integrate Twilio services, including voice and messaging APIs, following security best practices
  • Implement and maintain voice security controls, including encryption and privileged access management
  • Automate routine MACDs (Moves, Adds, Changes, Deletes) to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Manage hardware and software upgrades and lifecycle activities
  • Maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and performance management capabilities
  • Manage incidents and service requests in ServiceNow and contribute to workflow improvements
  • Maintain accurate system, operational, and security-related documentation
  • Coordinate with SIP carriers and telecom service providers for provisioning, troubleshooting, and support
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation as required


Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience administering and supporting Avaya Enterprise or other on-premises enterprise voice systems in a production environment
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP and SIP trunking, including troubleshooting call quality, signaling, and connectivity issues
  • Experience working with external vendors, SIP carriers, and telecom service providers
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident and request management
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex voice and connectivity issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience administering and integrating Twilio services, including API-based voice and messaging
  • Experience implementing automation for voice operations and provisioning workflows
  • Knowledge of voice and telecom security best practices and industry standards
  • Strong interest in continued professional growth within enterprise voice and unified communications technologies
