Current Initiative & Environment

The organization is actively modernizing a legacy mainframe environment while continuing to support critical production systems.
This is a pure mainframe engineering role not hybrid, not cloud, and not modernization-adjacent.
Work includes:

Production support ( keep the lights on )
Ongoing enhancements and incremental modernization

Technical Scope

This role requires strong handson engineering skills true coding, analysis, debugging, and enhancement work.

Core Technologies:

COBOL
JCL
DB2
CICS

Key Expectations:

Analyze and understand existing mainframe codebases
Independently deliver enhancements
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
Understand system behavior and interactions not just implement changes mechanically

Domain Expertise (Strong Preference)

Financial services or mutual funds experience is highly preferred
Familiarity financial transaction processing is a strong plus
Experience in regulated, highreliability environments will enable faster rampup

Role Summary

Client is seeking experienced Mainframe Engineers with strong Brokerage Services background to support critical enhancements and ongoing maintenance. The primary objectives include:

Performing comprehensive code analysis
Delivering application development and integration tied to industrymandated requirements
Supporting functionalities related to Trade Settlements and Mutual Fund processing
Providing expertlevel troubleshooting for brokerage transactions and data processing issues

Additional Details

Current environment includes both batch and CICS components
Work involves a mix of enhancements, maintenance, design, development, and testing
Automated job scheduling tools include ControlM
