SAP Manufacturing Consultant (ECC / S/4HANA) – Manufacturing Operations & Plant Optimization

About the Role
FourthSquare is seeking an experienced SAP Manufacturing Consultant to support a manufacturing transformation and plant optimization initiative for one of our customers. This role requires strong functional and operational expertise across manufacturing operations combined with hands-on SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA experience within industrial or manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of shop floor manufacturing processes, production operations, inventory and warehouse management, maintenance coordination, and production planning. This individual will work closely with plant operations teams, manufacturing leadership, IT stakeholders, and business process owners to evaluate current-state operations, improve manufacturing effectiveness, and align operational workflows with SAP manufacturing capabilities.
Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food & Beverage, process manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Manufacturing Process Support
- Support manufacturing and plant operations initiatives leveraging SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing business processes within SAP environments
- Work with operations and IT teams to align SAP functionality with shop floor operational requirements
- Support manufacturing process assessments, workflow optimization, and operational improvements
Shop Floor Operations
Support operational improvement initiatives related to:
- Line efficiency
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Production throughput
- Changeover optimization
- Downtime reduction
- Quality operations
- Production reporting and visibility
Warehouse, Inventory & Materials Management
- Evaluate and improve:
- Inventory accuracy
- Warehouse workflows
- Materials handling processes
- Production staging and replenishment
- Material movement and traceability
- Support alignment between warehouse operations and manufacturing execution processes
Maintenance & Reliability
- Work with maintenance and operations teams to improve:
- Equipment reliability
- Maintenance workflows
- Preventive maintenance coordination
- Downtime tracking and reporting
- Support SAP-integrated maintenance and operational processes where applicable
Planning & Scheduling
- Support production planning and scheduling process improvements
- Evaluate operational constraints impacting production execution
- Improve coordination between planning, inventory, procurement, and shop floor execution
Operator Workflows & Data Capture
- Analyze operator-facing workflows and manufacturing data collection processes
- Identify opportunities to improve operational visibility and shop floor reporting
- Support standardization of manufacturing data capture and operational KPIs
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of SAP manufacturing consulting experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Strong manufacturing operations and plant process knowledge
- Experience supporting manufacturing process improvements in industrial environments
Manufacturing Operations Expertise
Strong experience in:
- Shop floor manufacturing operations
- OEE improvement initiatives
- Production execution workflows
- Downtime analysis and reduction
