Sr Functional Lead WFM Scheduling & Forecasting

Type: Contract-to-Hire (Convert to Perm)

Location: Phoenix, AZ | Woonsocket, RI | Hartford, CT | Dallas, TX (Hybrid 2 3 days onsite) OR Full Remote

Overview

Seeking a senior Workforce Management (WFM) Functional Lead to own end-to-end labor forecasting and scheduling delivery. This role leads business discovery, solution design, and functional execution across forecasting models, staffing plans, scheduling optimization, configuration/customization, integrations, testing, and analytics/reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business discovery sessions and translate needs into actionable requirements
  • Perform fit-gap analysis across WFM tools and recommend best solution approach
  • Design forecasting workflows (inputs, assumptions, scenarios, overrides, governance)
  • Define scheduling rules, templates, shift patterns, compliance constraints, and optimization logic
  • Ensure solution accuracy, auditability, anomaly handling, and what-if scenario capability
  • Partner with engineering on configuration, extensions, integrations/APIs, automation, and testing
  • Own functional delivery including configuration/customization of WFM platforms
  • Drive enhancements, defects, releases, documentation, and adoption/training
  • Define reporting metrics (forecast accuracy, staffing vs plan, adherence/coverage)
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and accountability for product health and scalable delivery

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years WFM delivery experience (forecasting, staffing, scheduling)
  • Strong hands-on scheduling and forecasting expertise
  • WFM tools: Infor WFM/Workbrain, UKG, Legion (or similar)
  • 6+ years configuring/debugging WFM solutions
  • 3+ years working with SaaS vendors
  • Strong stakeholder leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Experience with Agile delivery, change management, and vendor negotiations
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple initiatives
  • Bachelor s degree (Business, HR, IT, or related)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Integrations with HR systems (ex: Workday) and downstream schedule/time consumers
  • Exposure to AI/automation in WFM
  • Reporting/dashboard/BI collaboration experience
  • Large enterprise / matrix organization experience
  • Jira/user stories, governance, release/change management
  • Experience supporting WFM initiatives during M&A/divestitures
