Summary

Be Part Of A High-Performing Team

Join the derivatives business of a global financial institution supporting sophisticated trading, valuation, and risk-management activities. This team operates in a fast-paced, highly analytical environment where accuracy, collaboration, and disciplined controls are essential. The group works closely across Front Office, Middle Office, Technology, and risk functions to maintain reliable trading data, support portfolio decisions, and introduce new financial products and analytical capabilities.

What's In Store For You
  • Engagement: W2 only; no C2C or 1099 arrangements.
  • Onsite opportunity in New York City.
  • Direct exposure to derivatives trading, portfolio valuation, market data, risk analysis, and profit-and-loss reporting.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with traders, quantitative professionals, Middle Office teams, and technology partners.
  • Strong entry point for a recent graduate seeking practical experience within capital markets.
  • Exposure to new product launches, valuation models, trading platforms, and process-improvement initiatives.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Maintain daily market data inputs, including swap rates, spreads, and exchange-traded security prices across multiple currencies.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of data and valuation inputs used in portfolio revaluation.
  • Investigate trade-reconciliation discrepancies in partnership with Middle Office and other support teams.
  • Book and maintain derivatives transactions within trading and risk-management platforms.
  • Perform daily risk and profit-and-loss analysis and prepare reports for traders and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, and analytical tools that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and risk controls.
  • Support the implementation of new financial products, valuation methodologies, and system enhancements.
  • Help preserve the accuracy and integrity of trading, valuation, and portfolio-management systems.

Do You Bring a Strong Quantitative Foundation in Derivatives and Financial Markets?
  • Undergraduate or master's degree in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a closely related analytical discipline.
  • Approximately 0-1 year of experience in financial services, capital markets, trading operations, risk, valuation, or a related internship environment.
  • Academic or practical knowledge of derivatives, particularly interest-rate swaps, options, caps and floors, swaptions, and structured products.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative ability with the capacity to interpret financial, valuation, and risk data.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Exposure to Python, VBA, SQL, or a similar programming language for analytics, reporting, or process automation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate data in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across trading, operations, risk, and technology teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple daily activities and respond effectively to trading and valuation deadlines.
  • Exposure to market data, portfolio valuation, risk measurement, or P&L analysis is strongly preferred.
