Business Analyst
Location: Seattle, WA
Type: Contract
Compensation: $55.00 - $65.00
Contractor Work Model: Remote (May require periodic travel (appx quarterly) to the Seattle region.)
Security Clearance: Candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.
Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the implementation and optimization of Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) across enterprise environments. This role partners with business stakeholders, security teams, and technical resources to gather requirements, map processes, and ensure solutions are delivered effectively. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting PACS or similar security system implementations and understands how these systems integrate with servers, networks, and operational technology. You will own requirements documentation, traceability, and support testing and validation efforts throughout the project lifecycle. This is a highly collaborative role focused on translating business needs into clear, actionable solutions that drive secure and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Recommend and assess impacts of changes that enable the project to achieve its goals; capture, analyze, and document requirements; and support communication/delivery of requirements to stakeholders
- Organizational Change Management and Business Process Mapping
- Learn the PACS (Physical Access Control System) functionality
- Validate functionality meets business requirements – Requirements Traceability Matrix
- Participate in testing as needed
- Align with teams for end-user communications plan with implementation timeline
- Provide availability for knowledge transfer
- Identify opportunities to improve operational problems and develop future project definitions through analysis of current state business processes
- Develop and present consultation findings to contribute to client''s decision path
- Engage and work closely with business customers at all levels from front-line to Executive leadership
- Ensure business goals and strategies are reflected in the recommended solution
- Identify, recommend, and document specific business and technology requirements
- Develop software fit/gap analyses, business requirements, use cases/user stories, and process/workflow diagrams
- Communicate requirements and opportunities to varied organizational audiences
- Build a strong working relationship with key stakeholders, SME’s, and IT resources to focus on the right services and products
- Gather and evaluate information for project planning and requirements gathering
- Support the four-pillar approach to business analysis, including BABOK standards, change management, performance metrics, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics or a related field; additional experience may substitute for degree
- 3 implementations with physical access applications or related experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting physical access systems implementations
- 2+ years demonstrated understanding of technical terminology related to servers, networking, and OT integrations
- Proven ability to facilitate complex requirements elicitation and manage traceability through project lifecycle
- Experience owning Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) across planning, testing, and delivery
- Ability to translate stakeholder needs into structured, testable requirements
- Strong technical writing skills for process documentation, SOPs, and operational artifacts
- Experience supporting vendor solution design validation, UAT planning, and stakeholder signoff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical teams
