Summary
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MECM Programmatic Systems Engineer to support enterprise software distribution, migration, and infrastructure management within a large-scale federal environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), enterprise system migrations, infrastructure platforms, and DevOps-based deployment practices. This role involves working on complex technical challenges, supporting system modernization efforts, and implementing innovative solutions across multiple enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Apply advanced technical principles to resolve complex infrastructure and system engineering challenges.
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and consultants to plan and implement system upgrades and enterprise changes.
Perform Dialog Manager, CLIST, and JCL updates supporting software migration activities.
Maintain and update component SharePoint sites, including procedures and production documentation.
Document migration and installation activities using the Online Software Release Form (OSRF) audit tool.
Support application migrations across multiple SDLC environments.
Participate in DevOps and Agile meetings to enhance migration, automation, and testing strategies.
Execute migration activities using:
Urban Code Deploy (UCD)
Jenkins
OpenShift
Install, uninstall, and reconfigure MECM/ConfigMgr clients.
Monitor client health and implement remediation and configuration settings.
Support enterprise software deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Foundation for Success)
Minimum 7+ years of experience working with MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager).
Proven experience planning and executing MECM patching and platform upgrade projects.
Experience deploying applications across enterprise testing and production environments.
Strong experience with SCCM / MECM (including CM 2012).
Experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise software distribution infrastructure.
Experience with programming or scripting technologies such as:
SQL
Java / JavaScript
VBScript / VB.NET
ASP / ASP.NET
PowerShell
HTML / XML
Experience supporting Windows Server environments (2008–2016) and Windows desktop platforms.
Knowledge of:
TCP/IP networking
Active Directory
Virtualization technologies
Server administration
Software distribution systems
Technical documentation practices.
Required Skills (Factors for Success)
Experience developing and maintaining JCL.
Knowledge of enterprise code deployment across multiple processing environments.
Experience with:
DB2 binds
CICS and IDMS implementations
z/OS mainframe environments
Experience managing:
TSO/ISPF environments
VSAM datasets
IBM utilities for migration and data restructuring.
Experience installing and maintaining:
HFS and ZFS file systems
WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
Java-based applications on Linux platforms
AWS-hosted application environments.
Experience configuring and maintaining WebSphere MQ application deployments.
Preferred / Desired Skills
Experience supporting and troubleshooting:
MECM site-to-site package distribution
MECM client environments
MECM backup and disaster recovery processes
Experience performing Configuration Manager health evaluations.
Ability to develop trend analysis and monitoring alerts.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in Federal or large enterprise environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience,
OR equivalent professional experience.
Security Requirement
Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance (Contract Requirement).
