Genesis10 is currently seeking an Atlassian Cloud Specialist for an onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The Atlassian Cloud Specialist is a senior, hands-on technical role responsible for planning, executing, and supporting large-scale migrations from Atlassian Data Center to Atlassian Cloud. This role requires deep expertise in Jira and Confluence Data Center architectures, Atlassian Cloud capabilities, and migration tooling. The specialist will own detailed technical execution while contributing to migration strategy and target state Cloud architecture.
Responsibilities: - Lead end-to-end migrations from Jira and Confluence Data Center to Atlassian Cloud, including assessment, planning, execution, validation, and stabilization
- Perform pre-migration discovery and analysis of Data Center environments, including projects, workflows, apps/plugins, integrations, and data volume
- Design migration strategies (phased, wave-based, pilot-first, or hybrid) aligned to business risk and regulatory requirements
- Execute migrations using Atlassian-supported migration tooling (e.g., Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant)
- Identify and remediate app compatibility gaps, including replacement, refactoring, or retirement of Data Center-only plugins
- Manage data integrity, validation, and reconciliation post-migration
- Administer Jira Software and Confluence in both Data Center and Cloud environments during transition phases
- Design and maintain complex Jira workflows, schemes, automation, dashboards, and advanced JQL filters
- Re-engineer integrations between Atlassian tools and Bitbucket, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and other enterprise platforms for Cloud compatibility
- Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure Cloud configurations align with enterprise control requirements
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to platform teams, project teams, and application owners during migration
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5-8+ years of hands-on experience administering Atlassian Jira and Confluence Data Center platforms
- Proven, hands-on experience leading Data Center to Cloud migrations for Jira and/or Confluence (large-scale or regulated environments strongly preferred)
- Expert-level knowledge of Jira workflows, schemes, permissions, automation, advanced JQL, dashboards, and reporting
- Strong troubleshooting skills across applications and integrations
Desired skills: - Experience as a solution architect
- Experience handling plugin rationalization and Cloud app replacement strategies
- Scripting and automation using Groovy, ScriptRunner, or Jira Automation
- Experience supporting high-availability, multi-node Data Center environments prior to migration
- Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, and DevOps operating models
Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
