Position Overview

We are seeking a high-level Financial Business Analyst Project Lead to assist in the redesign and optimization of financial modules within a large-scale Child Support Services application. This role focuses on analyzing current application workflows and recommending user-experience enhancements, usability improvements, and guided workflows for complex financial activities.

While this is a 100% remote role, the selected candidate must be available to work EST time zone hours. Additionally, the resource is required to be onsite in Columbia, SC, for the first two days of the assignment for equipment and system access and must travel onsite approximately once per quarter (4 5 days per visit) at their own expense.

Key Responsibilities

• Workflow Optimization: Analyze existing financial workflows to uncover inefficiencies and design optimized processes aligned with state business requirements.
• UX/UI Enhancement: Design self-guiding workflows, including step-by-step wizards, contextual help, and automated navigation for critical areas like order entry and financial adjustments.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Conduct interviews with stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of business processes and provide actionable recommendations.
• Technical Integration: Work closely with Functional Managers and BAs to develop comprehensive test scenarios and participate in bug triage and enhancement reviews.
• Reporting: Provide regular status updates on assigned tasks and work independently to enhance the interactivity of the financial user interface.

Required Skills & Experience

• Child Support Systems: Proven experience working as a Financial Business Analyst in more than one State Child Support System.
• Financial Operations: Deep expertise in receipts, distribution, disbursements, recoupment, and/or reconciliation within child support environments.
• System Design: Strong background in designing and developing processes for complex, multi-step workflows.
• Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical staff and executive stakeholders.
• Education: BS Degree or equivalent professional work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, validation, and decision-making.
• Experience utilizing SharePoint for project documentation and collaboration.
• Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite.
