RPG AS/400 Developer with EDI

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced RPG AS/400 Developer with EDI expertise to design, develop, and support applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in RPG (RPGLE/RPG IV), EDI integrations, and support of legacy systems, along with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using RPG III / RPG IV / RPGLE / Free Format RPG
• Work on the IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) platform
• Design, develop, and support EDI integrations (inbound/outbound transactions)
• Implement and support EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT
• Perform EDI mapping, testing, troubleshooting, and production support
• Work with trading partners for EDI onboarding and issue resolution
• Develop and maintain CL programs and DB2/400 queries
• Handle batch jobs, job scheduling, and performance tuning
• Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and production support
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate with business users, analysts, and external vendors

Professional Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in RPG (RPG IV / RPGLE / Free Format)
• Strong experience with AS/400 / IBM i / iSeries
• Hands-on experience in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
• Knowledge of EDI standards: X12, EDIFACT
• Experience with DB2/400, SQL, CL/CLLE
• Experience in EDI mapping tools or middleware
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Ability to work in a production support environment
