Role Overview
A leadership opportunity is available for a Quality and Compliance Manager to direct the site's quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, environmental compliance, and laboratory functions. This position ensures that products, processes, and management systems meet customer, regulatory, and company standards. The role is focused on advancing continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO, and customer requirements.
- Develop and uphold quality procedures, standards, and compliance programs.
- Monitor quality performance and facilitate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Oversee environmental permits, compliance programs, testing, and reporting.
- Lead customer, regulatory, certification, and internal audits, maintaining audit readiness.
- Serve as the primary contact for customer quality inquiries, complaints, and documentation requests.
- Partner with site leadership to reinforce compliance performance and reduce operational risk.
- Direct laboratory operations, testing programs, and equipment calibration activities.
- Coach, develop, and lead the Quality and Compliance team, managing departmental objectives and resources.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science, Environmental Science, or a related technical field is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience: Candidates must have at least seven years of experience in quality, regulatory, food safety, environmental, laboratory, or manufacturing environments. A minimum of three years of leadership experience in quality, laboratory, or compliance functions is also required. Experience leading audits, CAPA programs, investigations, and regulatory compliance activities is necessary.
Skills & Knowledge: A strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and regulatory compliance programs is essential. Candidates should have experience with CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, Change Management, and continuous improvement tools, along with leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- HACCP Certification.
- Lead Auditor Certification (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, or equivalent).
- Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
