Role Summary
The Alfabet SPM Architect acts as a trusted advisor to leadership, using Software AG's Alfabet platform to create visibility into the IT landscape. They transform strategy into actionable plans by managing portfolios (applications, technologies, projects) and optimizing the IT landscape to enhance business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Alfabet Platform Ownership & Optimization: Configure, customize, and maintain Software AG Alfabet to support enterprise architecture objectives and IT planning.
  • Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM): Align IT investments with business goals by managing demand pipelines, project portfolios, and resource allocations.
  • Architecture & Portfolio Modeling: Utilize Alfabet to document and analyze complex IT systems, including application, service, information, and technology layers.
  • Integration & Data Management: Work with APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and other data systems to integrate Alfabet with existing IT management tools.
  • Governance & Standardization: Establish and enforce architecture standards and governance processes (e.g., ARB, TDA).
  • Strategic Analysis: Analyze IT portfolios for rationalization, cost optimization, and risk mitigation, supporting M&A integrations and technical debt reduction. 
Required Skills and Experience
  • Deep Alfabet Expertise: Strong knowledge of Software AG Alfabet's configuration, workflows, and functional capabilities.
  • Strategic Portfolio Management: Proven experience in SPM, IT planning, and portfolio management methodologies.
  • Enterprise Architecture (EA): Proficiency in EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and modeling languages (e.g., ArchiMate).
  • Data Analysis: Experience with SQL, API integrations, and data visualization to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Technical Proficiencies: Familiarity with Linux, Git, and system analysis techniques.
  • Strategic Communication: Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to senior executives (CIO, CTO).
