Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients and other stakeholders.

The Security Department''s overall mission is to ensure a safe and secure environment and protect all facilities in which staff members perform their mission of research and development. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

Looking to hire a Cybersecurity Project Manager responsible for executing multiple high-visibility, high-risk, and complex cyber projects in collaboration with other Departments and Divisions.
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain project plans, communicate tasks and milestone dates, and lead project teams. They will be responsible for the development of the project charter and business case, RAID log, communications plan, requirements traceability matrix, project benefits and value statements, and to define project metrics as applicable. Swift identification and communication of project gaps and risks is paramount
• Communicate project status reporting to stakeholders, management and Laboratory senior management as required. They will collaborate on high-visibility Digital Enterprise Transformation projects with the Business Transformation Office and other Departments and Divisions
• Provide direction to the vertical teams for the evaluation of project feasibility, development of business cases, establishment of priorities, monitoring progress, continual evaluation of project status and resource utilization from project inception to post-deployment closeout
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects and be responsible for assessing process efficiency and strategic plan alignment across the Department. Contribute to the mission of maturing the SPMO
• Build relationships, manage and negotiate in a matrixed environment.

Required Skills:
• Bachelor''s degree. A bachelor’s degree in business management or computer science is a large plus.
• At least 8 years of experience managing complex, high-visibility projects in a matrixed environment
• PMP Certified

• Selected candidate must be a reliable self-starter who makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions
• Experience managing executive board-level sessions.
• The ability to work independently under minimal supervision, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex situations, follow-up when necessary, and respond to customer needs
• Must possess mature judgment and a cooperative attitude towards working in a close-knit team environment
• Must be able to set priorities and handle multiple tasks.
• Must be able to organize assignments within given timeframes and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience creating and maintaining project plans that communicate tasks, milestone dates, and status. Development of project documents such as project charter, communications plans, requirement metrics, and similar documents.
• Experience with project status reporting to stakeholders, management, and Senior Management
• Ability to balance risk, efficiency of execution, quality of results and SPMO process requirements in the fulfillment of departmental and Laboratory goals. Can adapt to changes in priorities and course of direction
• Familiarity with business software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office, etc.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with leading projects within NIST frameworks in a government space is preferred
• A master’s degree in Cybersecurity or MBA is preferred
