Information Security Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Scottsdale, AZ that is seeking an Information Security Architect for a contract to hire role.

Overview:
The Information Security Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and advancing enterprise security architecture and standards. This role works closely with infrastructure, systems, networking, and cross-functional teams to ensure security solutions align with business objectives, operational needs, and risk tolerance. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a strong emphasis on communication, influence, and professional presence in addition to technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
* Define and maintain enterprise security architecture frameworks, standards, and roadmaps
* Serve as a subject matter expert for security technologies and architecture decisions
* Validate security controls across network, endpoint, identity, and cloud environments
* Establish baseline security configurations for operating systems, endpoints, network segmentation, and IAM
* Partner with systems and networking teams to promote secure design and implementation practices
* Support endpoint management initiatives, including macOS onboarding and device control
* Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, standards, procedures, and documentation
* Perform risk assessments and root-cause analysis with clear, actionable recommendations
* Represent security as a stakeholder in projects, initiatives, and technical discussions
* Translate complex security concepts into clear guidance for technical and non-technical audiences
* Provide hands-on support and guidance as needed in a large, mature infrastructure environment

REQUIREMENTS:
* Several years of experience in information security with a strong networking and systems background
* Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments
* Proven ability to design and support security architecture and standards

Hands-on experience with enterprise security and endpoint technologies, including:
* Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA / ZPIA)
* Microsoft Intune
* Microsoft 365 security tooling
* Endpoint protection and device management solutions
* Apple Business Manager and macOS management

Strong understanding of:
* Network architecture and segmentation
* Routing protocols and LAN/WAN/SD-WAN environments
* Identity and access management concepts

Communication & Professional Skills:
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
* Confident, polished presenter with strong professional presence
* Comfortable guiding and influencing technical teams without direct authority
* Collaborative, mature demeanor with a -soft-influence- leadership style
* Ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and senior stakeholders

Additional Requirements:
* Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
* Ability to support work outside normal business hours when needed
* Willingness to travel occasionally (up to ~10%)

Preferred Qualifications:
* Security or architecture certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
* Zscaler certifications
* Experience in operationally sensitive or highly regulated environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
