Software Developer

Description

We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to join our team in Augusta, Maine. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and maintain robust software solutions that integrate diverse systems and support seamless operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Java, cloud computing, and web services to create scalable and secure applications.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement RESTful web services to facilitate secure data exchange between internal systems and external platforms.
Develop new features and functionalities for applications based on business and vendor requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze technical needs and deliver scalable solutions.
Optimize system performance and ensure compliance with security standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to integrations and services.
Participate in discussions to design and implement cloud-based architecture.
Support cloud migration efforts by refactoring services and optimizing configurations for minimal disruption.
Ensure interoperability between systems while maintaining high performance and reliability.
Provide technical guidance and contribute to strategic planning for future development initiatives.

Requirements

Proven experience in developing RESTful APIs and web services.
Proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of authentication and security protocols like OAuth2.
Experience integrating third-party APIs and vendor systems.
Strong understanding of software development in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in software development.
