The Advanced Solutions team within the 1LMX data workstream is hiring an A/AI machine Learning Engineer Staff to help develop our Generative AI products. The SEMPL solution is a groundbreaking effort to revolutionize Lockheed Martin's Software Engineering and Management Process (SEMP) and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Generative AI and Data Science with application to the 1LMX deliverables. What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will play a critical role in transforming the way Lockheed Martin employees work by infusing Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions into existing business processes.
You will contribute to the development of the 1LMX AI Acceleration Products that drive acceleration, inform data-driven decision making, and help the organization stay ahead of the curve. Some of the products for this role include working on ABAP coding agents for ERP. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn and grow yourself while also mentoring and leading others in this exciting and constantly evolving space while making meaningful contributions to the team's efforts. You will be a part of the adoption process and iterate with continuous development, incorporating user feedback quickly and delivering for the fast-paced 1LMX scope.

You are a motivated and enthusiastic engineer/full-stack developer with a strong foundation in software engineering, systems development, ABAP/UI5 and AI technologies. Basic Qualifications

Experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack engineering
Proficiency in Python or Node.js development
Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and/or Generative AI (GenAI)
Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
Experience with creating stories and working in Jira

Desired skills

Experience developing in the SAP ecosystem (UI5, ABAP, BTP)
Experience with Agile and utilizing Jira for PI planning, Sprints, stories etc.
Experience developing with GenAI Coding Assistants (Spec driven development) & MCP
Proven experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTFUL APIs with FastAPI and Pydantic data modeling
Hands-on experience with eFOSS system
Experience with the OData standard
Working knowledge with Temporal workflow orchestration
Working knowledge of OpenSearch or Elasticsearch (index management, query DSLs, hybrid search)
Proficiency in asynchronous Python (asyncio, async/await patterns)
Demonstrated experience building or leveraging knowledge graph based solutions (e.g., graph databases, ontologies, SPARQL)
Experience with cloud-based platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with GitLab pipelines, OpenShift, and other related technologies
Proficiency in additional programming languages, such as Java, C++, Rust, Go
Comfort with version control systems (e.g., Github & Gitlab, SAP CTS)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, AI/ML or related field

Ability to work remotely

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $132,900 - $234,370. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
