The Opportunity
You'll be embedded inside enterprise environments as the primary technical owner - equal parts engineer and trusted advisor. The work spans the full delivery arc: from early discovery workshops through production stability, owning both the technology and the client relationship. Executives and engineering leads both expect to hear from you, often on the same day. If you communicate as naturally in a boardroom as you do in a pull request, this role fits.
What You Bring
Must-Have
- 5+ years building Python services and REST APIs in production environments
- 2+ years hands-on with agentic AI systems - designing, shipping, and running unsupervised agents at scale
- 3+ years working inside Google Cloud Platform - Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Compute Engine, IAM - not just adjacent to it
Technical Depth Across
- LLM systems: RAG pipelines, semantic search, prompt engineering, ML pipelines (TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
- Backend: microservices, REST/GraphQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis
- Infra: Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Cloud Functions
- Languages: Python (primary), TypeScript/Node.js, Go, Java (Spring Boot)
- Observability & SRE: DataDog, Sentry, New Relic, distributed tracing, incident response, RCA
- Security: HIPAA, PCI-DSS, RBAC, JWT

What You'll Do
You'll lead discovery sessions from day one - asking the right questions, documenting requirements proactively, and converting business needs into concrete agent architectures before anyone has to ask. That means defining conversation flows, escalation logic, and skill boundaries, then presenting the tradeoffs clearly to both sponsors and engineering teams.
On the build side, you'll own end-to-end delivery: GECX agent implementation, prompt design, RAG pipeline construction, API integrations, and the underlying Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. You'll flag scope risks early, build automated evaluation frameworks, set acceptance criteria jointly with the customer, and keep quality status visible so go-live surprises don't happen.
Production deployments are yours to lead - cutover comms, executive briefings, the works. Post-launch, you stay embedded through stabilization: surfacing performance data, communicating incidents in plain language, and transferring ownership so customer teams can run their agents independently.
