Job Description:

The Financial Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for the design, build, operation, and support of financial data integrations and system interfaces across enterprise platforms. This role ensures the reliable and scalable movement of financial and operational data between ERP systems, logistics platforms, and downstream consumers. Within a freight forwarding and logistics environment, this role plays a critical part in enabling consistent and timely data flow across monthly, daily, and near real-time processes, including integration with platforms such as CargoWise.

This role works closely with the Business Analysis team to translate functional requirements into technical solutions and is accountable for the implementation, monitoring, and ongoing stability of integration pipelines and data services.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Design & Build

  • Design, build, and maintain data integrations across financial and operational systems
  • Develop and support interfaces between ERP systems, logistics platforms, and data platforms
  • Implement scalable data pipelines supporting batch, API-based, and event-driven architectures
  • Translate functional specifications from Business Analysts into technical solutions

Data Movement & Services

  • Ensure reliable delivery of financial data to downstream consumers, including:
    • Monthly financial reporting and close processes
    • Daily operational reporting and reconciliation feeds
    • Near real-time data services for billing, shipment visibility, and operational analytics
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes and API-based data services
  • Ensure data consistency, completeness, and integrity across all integration layers

Operations & Support

  • Monitor production integrations and data pipelines to ensure performance, reliability, and SLA adherence
  • Investigate and resolve integration failures, data latency issues, and pipeline errors
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues
  • Maintain operational dashboards and monitoring for integration health

Governance & Controls

  • Ensure integration solutions comply with data governance, financial controls, and audit requirements
  • Support audit and compliance activities by providing system logs, data lineage, and evidence of controls
  • Implement secure and controlled data exchange patterns aligned with enterprise standards

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Finance, IT, and Master Data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Participate in solution design discussions to ensure feasibility and scalability of integration approaches
  • Support testing activities including system testing, integration testing, and UAT validation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of integration frameworks and tooling

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 5 8+ years of experience in data engineering, integration engineering, or similar technical role
  • Strong experience building and supporting system integrations in enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with APIs (REST/SOAP), ETL/ELT pipelines, and data transformation processes
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured and semi-structured data
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain environments
  • Experience integrating with CargoWise or similar transportation management systems
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, messaging queues, streaming platforms)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Understanding of financial processes (GL, AP, AR, billing, revenue flows)
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and audit controls
