Summary

Title: EDVT Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Role Overview

We are seeking an EDVT Engineer to support electrical validation testing of hardware systems. The role involves hands-on testing, debugging, failure analysis, test automation, and collaboration with Diagnostics, Software, Manufacturing, and Hardware Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end unit and system-level electrical validation testing.
  • Debug, isolate, and analyze hardware and system failures.
  • Configure test setups, network topologies, and Cisco hardware.
  • Work with oscilloscopes, power supplies, power analyzers, electronic loads, traffic generators, switches, routers, and environmental chambers.
  • Document test results, data, and failure analysis in detailed test reports.
  • Modify and develop automation scripts for testing.
  • Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Diagnostics, Manufacturing, Power, Thermal, and Design teams.
  • Troubleshoot issues and drive problems to resolution.

Required Skills

  • Experience with Electrical/Hardware Validation Testing and test processes.
  • Knowledge of NPU, PHY, CPU, high-speed signaling, clocking, signal integrity, and power design.
  • Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco routers/switches, OSI model, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and L2/L3 networking.
  • Experience with IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, and VRF.
  • Scripting experience with Python, TCL, Perl, or similar automation tools.
  • Comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, failure-analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Hands-on hardware test setup and equipment configuration experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle and move test equipment as needed.
