Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Java / Lumi Developer with prior American Express (Amex) experience to join a high-impact technology team.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Amex s Lumi platform, cloud-native big data technologies, and Java-based application development.
The candidate will support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of scalable applications leveraging Lumi infrastructure and modern cloud technologies. This role requires strong Java development skills along with the ability to work within large-scale enterprise environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Must have prior American Express (Amex) project experience
* Must have hands-on experience with Lumi platform / Amex Lumi infrastructure
* Strong experience in Java development (Java 8+)
* Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices
* Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Java-based enterprise applications
* Experience working with cloud-native applications and big data platforms
* Experience with data processing, analytics, and distributed systems
* Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
* Ability to collaborate with architects, developers, product owners, and business stakeholders
Preferred Skills
* Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or similar big data technologies
* Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
* Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, GitHub/GitLab, Azure DevOps)
* Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain Java-based applications and services supporting enterprise platforms
* Work with Lumi platform teams to build scalable data-driven solutions
* Design, code, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
* Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile ceremonies
* Troubleshoot application issues and provide production support when required
* Follow enterprise coding standards and best practices
Required Experience
* 5+ years of Java development experience
* 2+ years of experience working in large enterprise environments
* Prior American Express experience is mandatory
* Hands-on Lumi experience is highly preferred/required
