Summary

We are seeking an Intermediate SQL Server Database Administrator to provide infrastructure DBA support for enterprise applications running on multiple versions of SQL Server. The DBA will support high-availability environments, disaster recovery solutions, and ensure database performance, integrity, and reliability.

This role involves working with development, testing, and production database environments while following enterprise database standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide SQL Server infrastructure DBA support for multiple enterprise applications.

Support 24x7 database environments including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

Monitor database environments using logs, trace files, alerts, and other tools.

Perform database integrity checks and ensure recoverability through backup monitoring.

Install and configure SQL Server software, patches, and service packs in development and test environments.

Monitor and support clustered database environments.

Support database replication and backup strategies.

Calculate disk space requirements for new and existing database installations.

Manage database space allocation and implement strategies to reduce fragmentation.

Execute scripts to create or modify database objects (tables, views, indexes, constraints).

Monitor database jobs and scheduled processes and assist in troubleshooting failures.

Maintain and update systems documentation related to database environments.

Follow and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills:

4+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience (SQL Server 2016 or higher).

Strong experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) in SQL Server.

Experience monitoring database backups and resolving backup failures.

Experience with database performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

Experience with clustered database environments and replication.

2+ years of experience creating and maintaining systems documentation.

Preferred Skills:

Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale database environments.

Experience working with development, test, and production environments.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to follow and enforce database governance standards.
