Job Overview

The Client is seeking two experienced Application Developers to support a multi-year modernization initiative focused on replacing aging legacy applications and transitioning to a modern, cloud-native technology environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET, Angular 16+, Web API, SQL, Azure, Git, and Azure DevOps, along with a solid understanding of modern application development, API integration, Agile SDLC, and cloud migration.

The selected developers will contribute to the development, enhancement, integration, testing, and modernization of applications supporting TRS pension administration and related MyTRS and MyERS environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain modern web applications using C#/.NET and Angular 16+.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and Web APIs for application and system integrations.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable, production-ready solutions.
• Perform application coding, unit testing, debugging, documentation, code reviews, and pull requests.
• Develop application components that meet established functional, technical, security, and performance requirements.
• Work with SQL databases, including data queries, stored procedures, integration, and application data access.
• Develop and support integrations between modern applications and legacy systems.
• Contribute to cloud modernization and migration initiatives using Microsoft Azure.
• Work with Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps as required.
• Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and development specifications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, QA/testers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze business processes and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot application issues and resolve defects with minimal impact to production environments.
• Manage multiple development tasks while meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience will also be considered.

Candidate Requirements

• 5 7 years of professional application development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET + Angular + SQL + Web API.
• Strong understanding of full-stack application development.
• Experience with Azure and/or cloud-based application development is highly preferred.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
• Must be available to attend occasional onsite meetings in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, when required.

Modernization Project

This position will support TRS's multi-year technology modernization initiative, including:

• Retirement and replacement of the legacy ALICE platform.
• Migration toward a unified cloud-native Azure environment.
• Modernization of pension administration applications.
• Integration with MyTRS and MyERS environments.
• Development of modern Angular-based user interfaces.
• Development of REST APIs and application integrations.
• Azure-based application and data services.
• Process automation and document management.
• Improved reporting and analytics through technologies such as Power BI.
