Description Senior Scrum Master (Data & AI)
Overview
A large enterprise organization is seeking an experienced
Senior Scrum Master to support multiple
Data & AI engineering teams. This role focuses on enabling teams delivering cloud-based data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI/ML initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strong servant leader and Agile coach who can partner effectively with Product Owners, engineers, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, healthy delivery flow, and meaningful business outcomes in a complex, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a servant leader for Data & AI teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and psychological safety
- Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles and best practices
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Support backlog refinement, prioritization, and breaking down work into deliverable increments
- Use flow metrics (cycle time, throughput, predictability) to guide continuous improvement
- Identify and remove impediments; partner with leadership to resolve systemic issues
- Enable effective collaboration across platform engineering, data engineering, analytics, and business teams
- Promote transparency and effective use of Agile tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps or similar)
Technical Environment (No Hands-On Development Required)
- Cloud data platforms and data pipelines
- Analytics and reporting environments
- AI / machine learning initiatives
- CI/CD and DevOps workflows (conceptual understanding)
You don't need to build solutions-but you should be comfortable speaking the language and facilitating technical conversations.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach
- At least 2+ years supporting data engineering, platform engineering, analytics, or AI/ML teams
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in complex, cross-functional, enterprise environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Agile certification(s) such as CSM, PSM II, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent
- Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar
