Job Description:
Endpoint Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing the end-user device ecosystem supporting Research & Development (R&D) and laboratory environments. This role provides strategic leadership for endpoint architecture, device management, virtualization, security compliance, hardware lifecycle management, and technology innovation. The position serves as the primary liaison between Research teams, Corporate IT, Security, and external technology vendors to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that enable scientific research and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a scalable Endpoint Architecture that supports research, laboratory, and high-performance computing environments.
- Lead the strategy, deployment, and administration of Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platforms, including Intune, SCCM/MECM, KACE SDA/SMA, and related technologies, ensuring automated provisioning, patching, software deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Evaluate, standardize, and govern next-generation hardware technologies, including GPU-enabled workstations, VR/AR devices, specialized sensors, and research instrumentation integrations.
- Design and oversee Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solutions to provide secure, scalable, and high-performance remote access for researchers and technical teams.
- Implement proactive endpoint monitoring and digital employee experience solutions, including Nexthink and automated remediation capabilities, to improve system reliability, performance, and user productivity.
Design, administer, and maintain Active Directory environments, organizational structures, security groups, authentication services, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to support enterprise security and operational requirements.
Lead vendor relationships, including technical escalations, service reviews, contract compliance, SLA management, and performance evaluations.
