Summary

Creates, manages, and optimizes production or project schedules to ensure efficient operations, timely delivery, and proper inventory levels. They balance customer demand with capacity constraints, utilizing tools like ERP systems to align production, supply chain, and sales, aiming for maximum productivity

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Master Production Schedule (MPS) Creation: Develop and maintain the detailed production schedule based on forecasts, orders, and material availability. The MPS will support a $3M revenue per month plan.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze production capacity (machines, labor) to prevent overloads and ensure realistic scheduling.
  • Inventory Optimization: Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support production goals while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the liaison between sales, production, procurement, and shipping to ensure alignment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track actual production vs. scheduled targets and adjust timelines as needed.
  • Material Requirement Analysis: Identify raw material needs and ensure timely availability to avoid shutdowns


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel
  • Experience as Production Planner/Master scheduler at a manufacturing site (mechanical and manual assembly preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge : Understanding of supply chain management, inventory strategies, and lean manufacturing principles. S&OP with solid Master Scheduling and Production Planning and Raw Material Planning,
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data for trends, constraints, and process improvements. Ability to prioritize what actually maters.
  • Communication: Effective communication to coordinate with various stakeholders and resolve conflicts. Ability to translate numbers into business impact (think in revenue, margin, service and cash).


Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.


Typical Experience

  • 2-4 years of Master Scheduler, Production Planning Lead, Raw Material Planning Lead.


Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or APICS certification is a bonus
