Overview:
Location: NYC - Hybrid
Salary: $125,000 - $155,000
We are seeking an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer who will support our NYC client. This role will be expected to design, automate, and support secure, scalable AWS-based platforms that enable data processing, AI/ML workloads, and production-grade MLOps. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly analytical, automation-focused, and comfortable supporting complex, mission-critical systems in a large enterprise or public-sector environment.
Duties:

Design, provision, and maintain secure, highly available AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, KMS, and multi-AZ architectures.

Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to automate environment provisioning and configuration.

Administer and optimize Linux/Unix systems, developing automation scripts in Bash, Shell, and Python to improve reliability and operational efficiency.

Build and support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to deploy cloud infrastructure, AI agents, and machine learning models into production environments.

Deploy, monitor, and manage containerized workloads and MLOps platforms using Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.

Architect and maintain scalable data processing and ETL/ELT workflows leveraging AWS managed services, Python, and PySpark.

Integrate and support AWS AI/ML services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, and OpenSearch (vector databases) to enable AI-driven applications.

Monitor system performance, security, and compliance using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Backup, and networking controls, ensuring operational resilience and governance.
Mandatory Qualifications:

7+ years of hands-on AWS experience: EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM, KMS, AWS Backup, and Lambda.

7+ years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and automation scripting (Bash, Shell, Python).

7+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools, including CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible, for provisioning and maintaining.

7+ years of knowledge in AWS networking: VPC, subnets, NACLs, security groups, Route 53, and multi-AZ architectures.
-
5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and IaC for deploying AI agents and ML models into production, monitoring autonomous workflows, and supporting MLOps using Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.

4+ years of experience architecting, building, and maintaining scalable data processing workflows using AWS managed services and Python (including PySpark); strong understanding of data architecture and ETL/ELT patterns.

4+ years of experience working with AWS AI/ML services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, and Vector databases (OpenSearch).

Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, NLP concepts, and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face.

Associates degree in related field or combination of education and experience.
