Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Blue Yonder (BY) Demand Planning Specialist with deep expertise in Statistical Forecasting, model tuning, and Blue Yonder Demand Module configuration. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in improving forecast accuracy, optimizing demand planning models, and supporting end-to-end demand planning processes within the Blue Yonder ecosystem.
This role requires strong functional, analytical, and technical skills, along with the ability to collaborate across business, IT, and supply chain teams.
Required Qualifications
- 8 10 years of hands-on experience with Blue Yonder Demand (formerly JDA Demand).
- Strong expertise in statistical forecasting techniques, model selection, and parameter tuning.
- Proven track record of improving forecast accuracy through model optimization and process enhancements.
- Solid understanding of demand planning concepts, supply chain processes, and S&OP.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and analytics/BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience with Blue Yonder Demand Module configuration and optimization.
- Background in the Semiconductor / Memory Industry.
- Exposure to machine learning based forecasting, advanced time-series analytics, or AI-driven demand planning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Blue Yonder Demand Module & Application Support
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Configure, maintain, and enhance the Blue Yonder Demand (BY Demand) Module in alignment with business requirements.
- Lead demand planning cycles and ensure accurate baseline forecast generation.
- Manage UAT activities, workflow changes, and system integrations with upstream and downstream applications.
- Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolution with IT teams and Blue Yonder support.
- Partner with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, data readiness, and integration consistency.
Forecasting, Analytics & Model Optimization
- Develop, configure, and tune statistical forecasting models to improve forecast accuracy.
- Perform deep-dive analysis of forecast errors and identify root causes.
- Create and maintain model governance frameworks, parameter tuning rules, and segmentation-based forecasting strategies.
- Implement best practices for:
- Causal factor modeling
- Seasonality adjustments
- Hierarchical forecasting
- Utilize advanced analytics to recommend continuous improvements in forecasting processes.
- Build dashboards and reports to monitor forecast accuracy, bias, and model performance.
Business Collaboration & Planning
- Partner closely with Demand Planners, Supply Chain Planners, and Business Stakeholders to understand demand drivers and variability.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) by providing statistical forecast insights, scenario analysis, and data-driven recommendations.
