This is an on-site position located in Tallahassee, FL

The Florida Digital Service was established to propose innovative solutions that securely modernize state government, including technology and information services, to achieve value through digital transformation and interoperability, and to fully support the state's cloud-first policy. It is also the lead entity responsible for enterprise cybersecurity.

The Florida Digital Service is searching for a candidate with experience, knowledge and skillsets in designing, developing, and maintaining a production-grade Single Page Application powered by scalable cloud-native micro-services using modern full-stack engineering practices for web-based applications to assist the Office of Data Management. This candidate will be responsible for the design and technical expertise in implementing applications and will be joining a team of professionals that are dedicated to streamlining data sharing, promoting interoperability within the State, reducing duplication of data received and assisting the State of Florida's Enterprise Data Community in finding efficiencies in business operations throughout.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be proficient in multiple programming languages (e.g. but not limited to C#.Net, Python, R, SQL, Java, JavaScript) and committed to continuous learning and adoption of new technologies. Adheres to industry best practices for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Design, develop, and maintain cloud native software solutions for application development, microservices, data management, ETL processes, and APIs.
Develop, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure, platform services, and application integrations supporting enterprise data applications.
Collaborate to design scalable systems and participate in requirements gathering and design reviews.
Provides assistance and technical support for the State's Enterprise Data Catalog and Interoperability initiatives.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

Expert programming skills using modern Object oriented and scripting languages.
Experience with designing and implementing web applications, APIs, and infrastructure services.
Experience with Git or other source code repositories.
Experience with cloud services.
Experience with Penetration Testing engagements.
Knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and modern application integration patterns.
Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and DevOps principles.
Has strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Experience designing and securing authentication and authorization systems, including SSO, OAuth/OIDC, JWTs, and both role/asset-based access control.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to analyze the current state of data systems, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations for prioritizing actions and improvements.
Ability to apply System Development Life Cycles (SDLC) methodologies and secure software development practices.
Familiarity with a variety of datasets, structured, semi-structured and unstructured, etc.

Preferred Skills
Experience with UX/UI interfaces
Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Azure DevOps
Experience with Identity Federation/Authentication
Experience with Sensitive Data using Security First Engineering

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or 6 years' experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Information Technology or another quantitative field.
