Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity and requires 3 days onsite. As part of a major digital transformation initiative to modernize an enterprise data platform, this role will support the design and implementation of data governance, data quality, and lineage solutions using Collibra and Azure-based platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with Data Strategy, Business, and Data Engineering teams to ensure high-quality, governed, and trusted data across key domains such as reference data, market data, and operational data.
Responsibilities: - Support enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives across critical data domains
- Implement and enhance Collibra-based governance and DQ capabilities
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and metadata management are embedded into the data platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, governed data solutions
- Develop and maintain data quality rules using Collibra DQ
- Implement and manage data governance assets (business glossary, data catalog, stewardship workflows)
- Support data lineage mapping across systems and pipelines
- Perform data profiling, validation, and issue analysis using SQL
- Integrate Collibra with the Azure data platform (ADF, Databricks, Data Lake)
- Develop automation and utilities using Python or similar languages
- Collaborate with Data Owners and Engineers to define and enforce DQ controls
- Ensure code promotion using CI/CD, version control (Git), and deployment best practices
- Maintain documentation and governance artifacts in tools like Confluence
Requirements: - 10+ years of experience in a senior-level role
- Proven experience as a Data Governance or Data Quality Engineer
- Hands-on experience with Collibra and Collibra DQ
- Experience with Azure data platforms (ADF, Databricks, Data Lake)
- Proficiency in SQL for data profiling, validation, and analysis
- Experience with automation using Python or similar languages
- Knowledge of CI/CD, version control (Git), and deployment best practices
Desired skills: - Experience in the financial services industry
- Knowledge of financial instruments, asset classes, and market data
