Raytheon's Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit (SBU) specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors and cyber solutions. Focused on program execution, business growth and the highest level of customer satisfaction, the ASDS team provides customers with unmatched capabilities of detection and sensing, command and control, and air-to-air, air-to-surface, and surface-to-air munitions to accomplish air, space and missile defense missions. Within ASDS, Space Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance is our Sub-SBU that delivers information superiority from space, multi-mission automation and orchestration, multiple intelligence (Multi-INT) and resilient operations, secure processing, and data management.

In this role, you will join a small, highly-focus team working to develop and maintain signal processing applications for use in a real-time operational environment. The team members are multi-disciplined and contribute across all phases of systems engineering, software development, integration and test, and metrics. The team works closely with operations personnel to meet unique and continuously changing development needs.

What You Will Do
  • Lead program's baseline modernization efforts.
  • Provide technical direction and design to software agile development teams, and other engineering personnel.
  • Mentor and guide senior and junior engineers.
  • Generate software cost and schedule estimates to support future development bids using techniques such as parametric analysis of SLOC, hours, or other metrics

What You Will Learn
  • Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
  • Software lifecycle practices on defense projects.
  • Advance software technologies.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Software Architect and experience developing software using Java or C++.
  • Experience with cloud environments, Kubernetes, and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Kafka.
  • Experience with System Engineering processes such as requirements management, use case development, and trade studies.
  • Experience with the SAFe Agile software development methodology.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. An active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI security clearance is also acceptable.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience with SIGINT, Digital Communication, or digital signal processing software development.
  • Experience programming solutions in C++, Java, Python, and GO.
  • Experience with Cameo Modeling using Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, and automated test.
  • Experience with Atlassian Tools.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
