Position Summary
The client is seeking a supervisor-level Data Governance & Compliance Analyst to support a global banking client within its Risk Consulting practice. This role will focus on assessing data governance frameworks, evaluating data quality and controls, supporting regulatory and compliance initiatives, and identifying risks across the data lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will combine strong data analysis capabilities with risk and compliance experience and be comfortable working across both technical and business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess data governance processes, controls, and standards.
Evaluate data lineage, ETL processes, data warehousing, and reporting environments.
Perform data quality assessments focused on accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and integrity.
Analyze large datasets using SQL and other analytical tools to validate controls and identify risks.
Support regulatory compliance, internal audit, and risk management initiatives.
Partner with business, technology, compliance, and audit stakeholders to evaluate processes and controls.
Prepare workpapers, risk assessments, and client-ready reports that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
Lead portions of engagements, manage workstreams, and provide guidance to junior team members.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''''s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, risk consulting, compliance, internal audit, or technology risk.
Advanced SQL skills, including data transformations, calculations, and complex querying.
Strong understanding of:
Data lineage | ETL processes | Data warehousing | Data lifecycle controls and reporting environments
Experience assessing data quality and control effectiveness.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to document findings and communicate risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within banking or financial services environments.
Knowledge of Data Governance, Regulatory Compliance, and risk management frameworks.
AML/BSA experience preferred.
Experience with Alteryx or similar data quality/data modeling tools.
Working knowledge of Python, SAS, JSON, or similar technologies.
Experience supporting audit, compliance, or regulatory examinations.
