Position Overview

•      Design and develop software applications using the Twelve-Factor App methodology from functional requirements

•      Design and develop applications using Angular, Java, REST API, and Spring Boot

•      Develop innovative UI design and web components in collaboration with other experts

•      Assess emerging technologies and recommend improvements to developer experience and delivery efficiency

•      Implement GUIs using AngularJS, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX, jQuery

•      Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to understand requirements

•      Design web page components compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d)

•      Design and develop Microservices using Spring Boot, Java, and RESTful architecture

•      Develop SOAP-based web services using JAX-WS, Apache Axis, and WSDL

•      Apply DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket); work with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform and containerization

•      Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and project managers; stay current with emerging technologies

•      Develop unit tests for Java classes using JUnit, Mockito, and PowerMock

•      Attend customer technical/design/development meetings and propose viable technical solutions

•      Provide guidance and support to junior/mid-level developers

•      Perform other duties as assigned

•      10+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React

•      Extensive design and programming skills in Java and JEE technologies

•      Extensive hands-on experience with Angular UI framework

•      Experience on Agile projects with strong knowledge of Agile terminology and tools (e.g., Agility)

•      Java, Angular 9+, Spring Boot, Kafka, REST API

•      10+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React

•      Extensive design and programming skills in Java and JEE technologies

•      Extensive hands-on experience with Angular UI framework

•      Experience with Agile projects, Agile terminology and tools (e.g., Agility)

•      Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency, scalable systems

•      Experience with Single-Page Application (SPA) architecture

•      Responsive web page coding, cross-browser compatibility

•      Cloud-native application design/deployment on AWS with PostgreSQL

•      CI/CD tooling: Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, Nexus, Maven, SonarQube, Fortify, UrbanCode Deploy

•      Web Services: XML, JAXP, JAXB, JAX-WS, AXIS, JERSEY, JSON, CXF, REST, SOAP; Security: LTPA, OAuth2/JWT

•      Microservices and RESTful API design/development

•      Automated testing: JUnit, Mocking frameworks, TDD, BDD (Cucumber)

•      JEE stack: Struts, Spring (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, Batch), Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, JPA, Hibernate, SOAP/RESTful, XML, DB2, Tomcat, WebSphere

•      Static code analysis (SonarQube) and remediation of bugs/vulnerabilities/hotspots

•      Knowledge of web application security vulnerabilities and mitigation

•      Kafka event-driven architecture: producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups

•      Kafka broker configuration, retention policies, replication/partitioning for throughput

•      Kafka Connect for data ingestion; Kafka Streams for real-time processing; cluster monitoring

•      Applying AI trends/knowledge to enhance or redesign system architecture

•      Implementation of Section 508 standards for web applications

•      Experience writing technical white papers and systems design documents

•      Prior experience on federal or state government IT projects
