Summary

Computer Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a talented Azure Sentinel SME/Architect to join our Client's dynamic team.

Job at a glance:

This is a long-term contract, with an initial term of 6-12 months, planned for extension and/or permanent placement
Pay rate is $80-$90/hr W2 + optional benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k)
Hybrid position, onsite 4 days/wk and remote 1 days/wk
Candidate can work from our Client's location in either Wilmington, DE 19809 or Dallas, TX 75243
Seeking candidates experienced with Microsoft/Azure Sentinel SIEM platform and ideally Cribl Stream.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain custom Microsoft Sentinel data connectors
Update and troubleshoot existing Sentinel connectors to address:
- Schema changes
- Ingestion failures
Performance or latency issues
Validate and troubleshoot ingested data using KQL as needed for quality checks and debugging.
Collaborate with internal teams to onboard new sources into Sentinel using scalable and supportable patterns.
Handle log routing and transformation through Cribl, including:
- Working with Cribl-managed ingestion paths feeding Sentinel
- Troubleshooting upstream parsing, filtering, or routing issues
Supporting onboarding of new sources where Cribl is part of the ingestion architecture
Design and build data pipelines independent of Microsoft Sentinel to support a security metrics initiative.
Maintain, operate and troubleshoot existing data pipelines, including:
- Diagnosing data quality issues, failures, and latency
- Resolving schema, transformation, and aggregation problems
- Supporting enhancements and incremental changes to existing workflows
Develop ingestion, transformation, and aggregation workflows that feed Power BI datasets and dashboards.
Develop scripts and tooling using Python, PowerShell, C++
Automate ingestion validation, pipeline monitoring, and recurring operational tasks.
Apply engineering best practices such as version control, testing, and documentation.
Produce clear technical documentation related to security policies, procedures, and standards to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
Provide guidance and support on security best practices

Required Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, data engineering, or platform engineering roles.
Demonstrated experience building and supporting data ingestion pipelines.
Practical experience with Microsoft Sentinel, specifically:
- Custom data connectors
- Ingestion troubleshooting and validation
Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, PowerShell, and C++.
Experience working with APIs, JSON, REST-based ingestion, and event-driven data flows.
Ability to work independently and deliver in a contractor capacity.

Familiarity with Azure services used for data ingestion and analytics (Log Analytics, Storage, Functions, Event Hubs).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) in support of engineering workflows.
