Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer II with expertise in semiconductor supply chain engineering, component qualification, supplier quality, and reliability engineering. This role will serve as the technical owner for Power Management IC (PMIC) and Interface IC suppliers, ensuring component quality, manufacturing readiness, reliability, and long-term supply continuity for enterprise hardware products.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with analog and mixed-signal semiconductor technologies, supplier qualification, New Product Introduction (NPI), and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and global supplier organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical owner for Power Management IC (PMIC) and Interface IC suppliers, ensuring quality, reliability, and supply continuity.
- Partner with Hardware Engineering, Package Engineering, Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, Quality, Logistics, and supplier teams to manage semiconductor components.
- Develop, qualify, and manage semiconductor suppliers and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) partners.
- Coordinate technical reviews to evaluate device selection, packaging technologies, manufacturing processes, and component revisions.
- Own the component qualification process and qualification matrix for power and interface ICs.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including supplier selection, qualification planning, risk assessments, and production readiness.
- Develop supplier performance metrics covering quality, yield, delivery, reliability, and manufacturing performance.
- Drive supplier continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield optimization, process improvements, and manufacturing excellence.
- Develop dual-source and second-source qualification strategies to reduce supply chain risks.
- Partner with Supplier Quality teams to manage quality issues through 8D Root Cause Analysis, corrective actions, and component requalification.
- Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) initiatives.
- Support semiconductor reliability qualification using JEDEC methodologies and manufacturing validation.
- Analyze manufacturing, yield, quality, and reliability data to identify risks and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with international semiconductor suppliers and manufacturing partners across North America and Asia.
- Present supplier performance, technical risks, and program status to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, supplier qualification requirements, and quality management processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Semiconductor Supply Chain Engineering
- Component Engineering
- Product Engineering
- Reliability Engineering
- Supplier Quality Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting:
- Power Management ICs (PMICs)
- Interface ICs
- Analog ICs
- Mixed-Signal ICs
- Strong experience with semiconductor component qualification and supplier development.
- Hands-on knowledge of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor technologies.
- Understanding of power delivery architectures, including:
- PMICs
- Voltage Regulators
- Load Switches
- Experience supporting high-speed interface technologies such as:
- PCIe
- NVMe
- Retimers
- Redrivers
- Level Shifters
- Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and supplier qualification activities.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor reliability testing, including:
- HTOL
- HAST/uHAST
- Temperature Cycling
- ESD
- Latch-Up Testing
- JEDEC Standards
- Experience with supplier quality investigations, 8D Root Cause Analysis, and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of semiconductor packaging, assembly, final test processes, and OSAT operations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while supporting global engineering teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience with enterprise storage, SSD, server, networking, or data center hardware products.
- Established relationships with semiconductor suppliers and OSAT partners.
- Familiarity with SSD hardware architectures and power delivery systems.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Conversational proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean.
- Experience working with global engineering teams across North America and Asia.
- Strong understanding of supplier development, DFM, DFR, dual-sourcing strategies, and component lifecycle management.
